About Me

My name is Robyn Cluka. I was born and raised in Escondido, CA. Surprisingly, for growing up in the same city in my whole life I went to many different schools. I went to Conway elementary in Escondido for Kindergarten and first grade. My family then moved to the other side of town where I attend L.R. Green elementary. I went there from second to sixth grade. In the middle of sixth grade my family decided to move again!! I then went to Hidden Valley Middle School till the eighth grade. After middle school, I decided to get a transfer to San Pasqual High School.  One of the best decisions I have ever made was going to college in Arkansas!! I attended John Brown Univerisity, which is a really small private school. I graduated with a degree in Business Administration, which I did enjoy, but never felt it was the right thing for me! I have always enjoyed school. School is something I have always had to work hard at it. It has never come naturally to me the way sports did. I am a good student, but I can be a little bit of a class clown. I always like to have fun and SMILE!

I would say that I am not super tech savvy. I know the basics. I do try to stay up to date, but I just take a little longer then others. I haven't really taken a lot of computer courses. I do know how to use a Mac and most of the Apple products, but I can't afford them. I have a crappy Gateway laptop, which is probably about seven years old. I need an UPGRADE!

The part of the CSUSM college of education mission statement that stuck out to me was, "We are committed to diversity, educational equality, and social justice exemplified through reflective teaching, life-long learning, innovative research, and ongoing service." I believe it is important to create a classroom and environment where everyone is able to learn.  I plan on getting my special education credential, and I believe that Cal State will provide me with the right skills and professional development upon becoming an educator!
